Well our summer was quite the adventure. We got enough traveling to last a lifetime... ok not really but certainly enough to last awhile. Our adventure started when my sweet baby nephew Ethan Everal Roberts was born weighing 7lbs 5oz. He was born on July 17th. The next morning Aaron and I left Rexburg and headed to Nampa to meet the newest member of our family. What a special time that was. We were in Nampa for a week and a half getting to know our nephew Ethan better, and spending quality time with family. We did lots of fun things while there, among them were floating the river, going to the sand dunes, going to a water park, and going to Wahooz (go-carting, laser tag, mini golf, etc.). Needless to say we had an amazing time there.
We then headed to Fort Collins, Colorado with only a week left before the wedding. That week was spent getting last minute things done for the reception and wedding, and spending quality time with my soon to be in-laws. On Thursday night I was able to receive my Endowments. What a wonderful experience that was. Afterwards we went out for CiCi's Pizza. Friday we had a dinner with all the Thompson's who had come for the wedding. We ate at Red Robins. While there I practically died choking on a cookie, and then I locked the keys in the car and it took an hour before Aaron, my dad, and the boys were able to get it out, thank goodness the Lord was watching out for us and we were able to get it out. We got to bed around 12:30 that night. The next morning was the big day. After all the nightmares I had about being late for my own wedding or missing it entirely I made sure I got up early enough. I awoke at 4:30 and had plenty of stress-free time to get ready and primp myself up. Aaron got up around 5 knowing I wanted him to get up early. We were both ready by about 6:30. After a quick goodbye to the family Aaron and I headed to Denver. Once there we ate breakfast at 'The Original Pancake House'. It was delicious and a perfect start to a perfect day. We left there about 8:00 and were at the Temple 45 minutes early. We walked the temple grounds and enjoyed the alone time before we got married. About 8:50 we called our families because we couldn't help but notice they didn't seem to be there. Aaron's family didn't answer the phone. My family was running about 15 minutes late (as expected). So without our escorts we decided to just go in. Upon entering we saw Aaron's family. They must have gone in when we weren't looking. My family showed up shortly thereafter. At 10:00 Aaron and I were married for time and all eternity. It was a beautiful wedding. After the wedding the photographer took pictures and then we headed to the luncheon at Olive Garden. Surprisingly neither of us were too hungry so we just kind of snacked on our food and saved the rest for later. After the Luncheon Aaron and I took our things to our hotel, and then took a 45 minute nap (it seemed far too short). We then went to the perfect reception. The weather was perfect that day and so was everything else. Sadly my sister Chantelle couldn't make it due to having just had a baby and still recovering, but she was there in spirit all day long:). After a perfect day we drove off into the sunset and lived happily ever after. Lol just kidding.
The next 2 days we drove from Colorado to Corpus Christi Texas where we had reserved an apartment on the beach. It was beautiful. I got to swim in the ocean for the first time ever. The water is more salty than I could have ever imagined!! We had a fun and relaxing week there on the beach. Our last day there we went jet skiing on the ocean. Let me tell you we caught some pretty good waves. I think we got like 5-8 feet of air a few times. It was a blast. We went out to Joe's Crab Shack and both tried crab for the first time. We both like chicken better lol. We also caught a jelly fish wish was pretty awesome!
After that fun filled week we headed to Arkansas to visit my family, and old friends. Lucky for us it cooled down while we were there so it wasn't too hot. I had fun showing Aaron where I came from and seeing good friends again. My Aunt Mnisa and her kiddos visited that week so we got to see them too. Her kids grow so fast!! Wednesday night I had a second perfect reception in Lonoke. My mom and the branch ladies worked so hard on it and it was so beautiful. simple, elegant, and country. I couldn't have imagined it that good in my mind. Everything that week was amazing.
Friday morning Aaron, Kayla, Snuggles and I headed for Colorado. Kayla got to spend a month with my family which was both exciting and tiring I am sure. We drove 16 hours in one day. That was a long drive. The next morning if you can believe it we went hiking. That was tiring but fun. We definitely made some memories. We thought it would be faster to climb up the boulders themselves rather than following the trail. Silly us... Bouldering can be hard at some parts. We had four false summits which means we thought we had reached the top four times before realizing there was more boulders behind those ones. Lol we sure were glad when we finally made it to the top. The rest of the weekend was quite relaxing.
Monday morning Kayla flew home and Aaron, Snuggles and I drove to our new home in Rexburg. We moved in that night and Chantelle, Zach, and baby Ethan drove down the next day to help move in everything else. We are now moved in to our new house and we love it here. Snuggles LOVES her new home and is loved unconditionally day in and day out. We got Aaron's track changed so it is the same as mine now. So we will be on track January-July and off track August-December. So until January we are both just working. We are also taking a few online courses which start on Monday along with our new job training. We work together at Bernett (A survey call center), same hours and same days together every week so that should be fun. We couldn't be happier together. Everything has worked out quite wonderfully!! Thanks to everyone who was a part of this wonderful summer!
Oh and one more thing. This last weekend we were able to go to baby Ethan's baby blessing which was beautiful. He is an amazing baby. I just love him more and more each time I see him. Well that's all for now! Until next time!!
