2014 Family Letter

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
This year has been wonderful and we would like to wish all of our friends and family the best and give you an update on our lives. Our biggest news is that we are expecting a new addition to our Family in July. Emily is convinced that it will be a girl. Aaron thinks that there is a 50/50 chance that it will be a boy or a girl. We are very excited to be parents! It will be an adventure!
In May we went camping near Swan Valley, Idaho and hiked to the Lower Palisades Lake. It was great weather and the mountains were beautiful.
In August we went to Yellowstone with the Vernon Family and had a great time going on hikes, boating, playing games and spending time with Family.
Emily graduated from beauty school in January and has been working full-time at Great Clips in Idaho Falls. She enjoys cutting hair and does a great job at it. She has also been taking some online classes from BYU-Idaho and will begin taking classes on campus in January. Emily ran her first race this year and it was a half-marathon. She did great and persevered until the end of the race. She wants to do another one and improve her time. Emily has found a new hobby of doing crafts. She has made some amazing fall and Christmas decorations. She is a humanitarian aid assistant in our ward so she has been busy this year! She is excited to fulfill her dream of becoming a mom.
Aaron has been going to school full time and will graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology in April. He has applied to a few Physical Therapy Schools and is waiting to hear back. He continues to work with Disabled adults when he isn’t too busy with school. He also ran his second half-marathon. He enjoys playing basketball and racquetball with his brother Chad who is also attending BYU-Idaho. He is excited to be a Dad!
Snuggles is now 13 years old and is doing great! She will be jealous once the baby is born. Snuggles lives for attention from Emily and loves to cuddle. Aaron has given Snuggles a new nickname: Snoogs. It is pronounced “Snewgs.”
We hope all is well and that we can remember the reason for the season!
Love,

Aaron and Emily Vernon and Snuggles

One day I cam home and found out we are expecting a baby! It was very exciting. Emily decorated the door all nice and it was really cool!

We played the game of Bang! With our friends.
We went to my Grandma's Funeral and were able to remember her amazing life. She was a great Grandma.

I got to be a pall bearer.
This was the dinner my Uncle Scott's ward put on for us after the Funeral.
The whole Family... except for Cory who is on his mission in Brazil:)

I can't believe it is November already!

Snuggles always leaves space for her stuffed animal friends:)
Emily made an always be thankful craft that says merry Christmas on the other side
We went to Squealers in Rigby and had fun go-karting, playing mini-golf, rock climbing and doing this cool teeter totter thing.

We rode the space ball and we didn't throw up!

Chantelle and Ethan came and Chantelle hit her head on the window seal so I gave her a bag of frozen peas and and wrapped it onto her head so it wouldn't fall off.

Emily and Chantelle made Christmas wreaths

Zoos and our Half Marathon!

We made some cinnamon roll pancakes:)

We decided to get rid of our very heavy T.V. for a nicer one
Fetticunni dinner with corn and bread
We played Risk on our Second Anniversary
WE have been married for 2 wonderful years!
WE went to a burger place called Big Jud's to celebrate
Snuggles loves to bask in the sunlight

My burnt waffle. It is not a chocolate waffle
For Emily's 22nd birthday we went to the Tautphaus Zoo in Idaho Falls. We had a great time.
We really liked the Lemurs... my brother Cory would be proud. He loves Lemurs... especially King Julian

These pictures are from the Hogle Zoo in Utah. It was a chilly windy day when we went.

This is Frederico the Chimp. He gave us a little show.

My Mom made Emily a blanket made out of her old shirts and a couple of my old shirts. She loved it! It will keep my girl who is always cold a little warmer:)
This is on the way up to the start of the Half-Marathon
We waited for about an hour and a half in chilly weather for the race to start. Once we got moving we warmed up though.

We were slow but the important thing is that we finished!

It was Emily's first race ever and she did 13.2 miles! I am so proud of her!

Our drive home back to Rexburg. We had a great quick trip!
